Hydrostatics and Hydrodynamics Lab

The Hydrostatics and Hydrodynamics laboratory has been designed for hands-on study of the basics of hydrostatics and hydrodynamics. All hands-on labs are conducted on a specially developed test bench equipped with a motion platform, sensors, digital indicators and other components. With the help of this test bench the students can study the law of communicating vessels, floating conditions of bodies, Archimedes’ principle, and study the forces acting on an immersed object depending on its mass and the density of the liquid. The laboratory software has a simple and intuitive User Interface developed in LabVIEW graphical programming environment. The experimental results, along with the student’s registration data, the date and time of the experiment are saved in the system’s database. When connected to an interactive blackboard or a projector the system can also be used for effective demonstrations of the studied principles.
